1 C. lukewarm thick buttermilk
1 t. Sugar
¼ t. Soda
1 t. Salt
3 T. soft shortening
Mix all ingredients.
Crumble into mixture 1 pkg yeast.
Stir until yeast is dissolved.
Mix in 2 ½ - 2 ¾ C. flour.
Turn onto floured board. Let stand 10 minutes.
Knead. Shape into rolls. Let rise until double 1 - 1 ¼ hours.
Bake 15-20 min. In 400F.
1 ½ doz. Cloverleaf, parker house or pan rolls.
Cinnamon. Roll 9 x 12 oblong. Spread with 2 T soft butter.
Sprinkle with mixture ½ C. sugar, 2 t. Cinnamon.
Roll up. Cut into 12 slides. 9 x 9 x 2” pan.
Bake 25 minutes at 400 F.
Ice tops if desired.
Butterscotch - same as cinnamon, only place in 9 x 9 x 2 in. pan coated with ⅓ C. butter, ⅓ C. brown sugar, ⅓ C. pecan halves.
Let rise, bake and turn upside down.
