Dough:
1/2 c melted shortening
1/2 c sugar
2 tsp salt
2 beaten eggs
1 cake yeast
2 c scalded milk
7 c flour
 
Filling:
1/2 c sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
Melted butter
Combine shortening, sugar, salt, and eggs.
Add yest softened in 1/2 cup of lukewarm water.
Add milk alternating with flour.
Knead lightly.
Cover with damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until double.
Punch down.
Divide dough in to 2 equal parts and let rest 10 minutes.
Roll each into 1/2" thick 30 x 14" rectangle (One rectangle makes one cinnamon whirl).
Brush rectangle with melted butter.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (1/2 c sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon).
Roll as for jelly roll.
Place in greased 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" loaf pans.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Let rise until double.
Bake in moderate ( 350 ) oven 45 minutes.
