Date Nut Bread (Kat)

2 T butter ¾ c. boiling water ½ c. sugar 1 c pitted dates, chopped 1 ¾ cup sifted flour 1 t. Soda ½ t. Salt 1 egg ½ c. chopped walnuts |
Melt butter in boiling water. Add sugar + dates. Set aside to cool. Combine flour, soda + saltt. Add beaten egg to cooled date mixture, then nuts. Bake at 350 F for 40 - 50 minutes in a greased + floured loaf pan. Cool before slicing. |
